Eligibility
Entrant Content must meet all of the following requirements, as determined in Sponsor or Administrator’s discretion, or the associated Entry may be disqualified:
Functionality: The Application must be capable of being successfully installed and running consistently on the platform for which it is intended, and must function as depicted in the Video and other Entrant Content.
Platforms: An Application must include a software component such as:
- a native app - running on a smartphone or tablet app (iOS, Android, Windows Mobile, etc.)
- a web app (mobile or desktop)
- software running on other hardware (including, but not limited to, wearable technology, open source hardware, etc.)
- custom or proprietary hardware which includes a software component (wearable technology, open source hardware, etc.)
Each Entrant must comply with all applicable explicit or implicit terms and conditions or policies for the platform, application, or software in connection with their Application and on which its Application operates. As such, each Entrant must follow the spirit of such terms and conditions and policies; and any attempt to subvert or to use a work-around of such terms and conditions or policies may, in Sponsor's sole discretion, lead to such Entrant's disqualification. Each Entrant must also at all times comply with all terms and policies applicable to their use of Facebook, including, without limitation, Facebook’s Statement of Rights and Responsibilities (https://www.facebook.com/legal/terms) and Platform Policy (https://developers.facebook.com/policy).
New & Existing: Applications must either (a) be newly created by the Entrant during the Submission Period or (b) if the Application existed prior to the Submission Period, must (i) have been previously created by the Entrant and (ii) during the Submission Period the Entrant must have integrated at least one of the featured Facebook products into the Application or materially deepened an existing integration (as determined by Sponsor and Administrator in their sole discretion). New Applications and updated existing Applications (pre-existing) are eligible for different regional and global prizes as detailed below.
Testing: The Entrant must make the Application available free of charge and without any restriction, for testing, evaluation and use by the Sponsor, Administrator and the Judges (defined below) from the time of entry throughout the Contest Period (including the judging process and until all winners are verified).
If the Application includes software that runs on proprietary or third party hardware that is not widely available to the public, including software running on devices or wearable technology other than smartphones, tablets, or desktop computers, the Sponsor and/or Administrator reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to require the Entrant to provide physical access to the Application hardware upon request.
For Applications running on widely available smartphones, tablets, or desktop computers, Entrants may make their Application available using one of the following methods:
- Spark AR Effect: In addition to submitting an Application to Sponsor via the Website, Entrants that create a Spark AR effect in their Application are required to: (i) submit such Spark AR effect to the Spark Hub (https://www.facebook.com/sparkarhub/); (ii) submit the Spark AR effect ID to DevPost (as instructed by DevPost); (iii) submit such Spark AR effect for publishing to either Facebook or Instagram (instructions can be found here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/ar-studio/publishing-your-effect) and (iv) capture Spark AR effect by recording a video of between five (5) seconds and twenty (20) seconds in duration (such video must be uploaded with the project file at the time of publishing on the Spark Hub as well as on DevPost (along with the corresponding effect ID)) (for the avoidance of doubt, the Spark AR effect video is required for a submission with a Spark AR effect, and is in addition to the required Video describing and demonstrating the Application).
- Web: On your Entry Form, share the URL to the page where the Application can be accessed.
- Android Applications: Upload an .apk file on the Entry Form or provide a link for downloading the Application in the “Testing Instructions” field on the Entry Form.
- iOS Applications: If your Application is available on the iTunes App Store, provide a link in the “Website URL” field on your Entry Form. If you charge a fee for downloading your Application, you must provide a promo code. If your Application is not yet publicly available on the iTunes App Store, you must send a test build to the Administrator before the end of the Submission Period using one of the following methods:
(Administrator UDID is: iPhone 8 (iOS 12.3.1) a2d30c918b5b7184172fe7c000caa2241d9cb710)
Beta by Crashalytics You may send the Administrator a beta test via Crashalytics. Use the Administrator’s testing email (testing@devpost.com) and UDID (see above) to provision a build and send the Administrator a link via the “Share Links” button. Add the testing link to the Entry Form under “iOS Build Link”. Beta by Crashalytics is a free service. Please review the how-to for their Beta Distribution tool (https://dev.twitter.com/crashlytics/beta-distribution).
TestFlight / iTunes Connect Enter the Administrator’s email address to share a build for testing. The Administrator’s TestFlight account email is: testing@devpost.com. Please note that if you add the Administrator as an “External Tester,” your Application will need to go through Beta App Review before you can send your build (see: https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/documentation/LanguagesUtilities/Conceptual/iTunesConnect_Guide/Chapters/BetaTestingTheApp.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40011225-CH35-SW13). This could lead to delay and in order for your Entry to be eligible, you must send your test build before the end of the Submission Period. To learn more about TestFlight via iTunes Connect, please review the iTunes Connect Developer Guide(https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/documentation/LanguagesUtilities/Conceptual/iTunesConnect_Guide/Chapters/BetaTestingTheApp.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40011225-CH35-SW2) and the TestFlight Video Tutorial (https://itunesconnect.apple.com/downloads/Documentation/TestFlight-v09-iTC-Export-sw.mov).
HockeyApp Send a testing link to the Administrator at: testing@devpost.com, and add the testing link on the Entry Form under “iOS Build Link”. Please note that there is a fee to use HockeyApp (http://hockeyapp.net/pricing/).
You must at all times comply with any terms, agreements, guidelines, or policies applicable to your use of any of the above third-party app testing services.
- Windows Phone applications: Upload an .xap file in the Entry Form or provide a link for downloading your Application in the “Testing Instructions” field on the Entry Form.
- Windows PC: Upload the appropriate installation files (.exe) on the Entry Form or provide a link for downloading your .exe file in the “Testing Instructions” field on the Entry Form.
- Mac OS: Upload the appropriate installation files on the Entry Form or provide a link for downloading your installation file in the “Testing Instructions” field on the Entry Form.

Intellectual Property: All aspects of the Entrant Content must be solely owned by or licensed to the Entrant or in the public domain. All third-party content not owned by or licensed to the Entrant is prohibited, unless such content is in the public domain. Sponsor may request written proof of ownership of or adequate license to Entrant of any Entrant Content. Failure to timely provide adequate proof of ownership or sufficient license rights in any content included in the Entrant Content (as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion) may result in the Entrant being disqualified and related Entry deemed void.
Financial or Preferential Support: An Application must not have been developed, or derived from an Application developed, with financial or preferential support from the Sponsor or Administrator. Such Applications include, but are not limited to, those that received funding or investment for their development, were developed under contract, or received a commercial license, from the Sponsor or Administrator any time prior to the end of Contest Period. The Sponsor, at its sole discretion, may disqualify an Entry, if awarding a prize to the Entry would create a real or apparent conflict of interest.
Text Description: The text description should explain the features and functionality of your Application.
Images: If an Entrant elects to submit images as part of their submission, the image(s) should be photographs or screenshots of Entrant’s working Application.
Video: The Video:
- should be less than approximately two (2) minutes long;

- should not include third party trademarks, copyrighted music, or other material unless the Entrant has permission to use such material.
Entry Modifications: Prior to the end of the Submission Period, you may save draft versions of your Entry on Devpost to your portfolio before submitting the Entrant Content to the Contest for evaluation. Once the Submission Period has ended, you may not make any changes or alterations to your Entry, but you may continue to update the project in your Devpost portfolio.

Entrant Content must not create or imply any association between Sponsor and any individual or entity or his, her, its or their products or services, including the Entrant. Entrant Content must not contain any recognizable third-party trademarks (including logos), trade dress, or other brand elements unless Entrant has written permission from the rights owner to use such material.
